True food Kitchen

Piles of raw vegetable dancing through the dinning room, green juices displayed on people's tables and yoga pants. No, you didn't just enter a spa in California, you are in True Food Kitchen.
Located in the heart of Cherry Creek (2800 E 2nd Ave #101  Denver, CO 80206), this restaurants has been taunting me for quite sometime. I have tried to go in before, but it was always too busy and at lunch time I am really not into waiting for 1 hour to get a table. If you have a group of 8 or more feel free to make reservations other wise be ready to wait.

We finally ended up going one evening at around 8pm after a long day. We knew we were hungry, but didnt want to eat anything to heavy and this was the perfect solution.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with shades of green, white and gray plus some warm brown accents; modern, minimalist, clean design and to the point. The big open kitchen adds an industrial feel that contrast quite nicely with the big "tree" wall making you feel "in nature", a great way to bring the outdoors inside. An interesting part of the decor is the wait staff's "relaxed" look, strutting in their yoga clothing, casually blending with the clientele.

The food is definitely True, we ordered a Raw vegetable salad and almost felt of our seats when it arrived. It was a massive amount, of well, raw vegetables with two delicious dipping sauces. I ordered a "Green Iced tea" which was really good and my husband ordered the "Kaleaid juice", which he was really committed to drinking even though it is not for the faint of heart. Our favorite that evening was the Chicken Pizza, but I've heard since that the dumplings are a must try.
Overall I like and appreciate the concept of clean, good for you food with lots of flavor. Maybe dial down a bit on the "spa" atmosphere, at least for me.
