BIENNIAL OF THE AMERICAS

Have you seen all of these colorful pendants around the city that read “The Americas are coming”?

Is it funny or embarrassing, I am not sure. Whatever you want to call it, the first time I read one of those I thought... Biennials are created for cities like Paris, Rome or London, what is a Biennial publicity doing here?. For some reason the word biennial sounds too sophisticated for an outdoorsy city like Denver.
However, we have a Biennial of the Americas in our very own Denver.

This Biennial of the Americas is an amazing accomplishment that was developed for the first time in 2010 during the government of then Mayor of Denver, John Hickenlooper, as proposal to celebrate the Americas in Denver.

At the same time Denver becomes the epicenter of an intellectual discussion about significant issues impacting the Americas in different aspects like business, education, arts and civil society, bringing art from across the continents that is relevant to spark that goal.

This celebration has scheduled a handful of private events for the most influential people from around the world who would try to find solutions or ways to improve present conditions in North and South America, but at the same time it has a bunch of fun expositions, parties, and discussions all inclusive where everyone would have the opportunity to raise their concerns.

The Biennial would run from July 16th to September 2nd and the events are as diverse as our Americas itself.
Representation form Canada to Chile and different venues like El Museo de las Americas, Denver Art Museum, Colorado BalletColorado Symphony and the Mexican Cultural Center make part of this party with special programming that you can enjoy almost everyday.

Decide how you want to be part of this Biennial. Find out how the Americas are beating right now.
